Code-it
Software has separated itself from the over-abundance of
"look a like" products, "me too" services,
and "canned" support. How?
Text Shifter v7.1
I realize that most folks really won't give a hoot about my
long draw out description of this software but maybe it's something that will
help YOU become more productive.
I've been promoting "text 2 speech" software/
technology for years now and to be honest nobody seemed to be very interested
- most all of us hated the talking paperclip and Bob (Microsoft's talking help
character). It (text 2 speech) was always kind of a fun thing - but not used
to it's full extent. I think that maybe the time just wasn't right for
computers that talk to you as seen on Star Trek: but maybe it's day has
arrived if it were used in a new way?
What?
"Time Shifting" - Time shifting is the process
of recording and storing data for later viewing, listening, or reading. In
a workplace setting, the term timeshifting is sometimes used in reference
to flextime (flexible hours of work). In communications, the term
timeshifting refers to the transmission of messages or data to be read,
heard, or viewed by the recipient at a later time.
This application should NOT be confused with the
"Text 2 Audio" tool offered within our older versions of "Wave MP3
Editor" (older then v15.5). It is somewhat similar but way more advanced.
Why?
More students and business people now attend classes,
lectures and meetings with their laptops in tow - using it to take digital
notes instead of via paper and pen. A few years ago this was not so due to
the high cost of laptops and low battery life. I have been out of school
for over 10 years and was recently invited to speak at a computer
programming class at my local college. I was AMAZED at the fact that
almost every student was taking notes on their laptops: you knew when you
said something that struck a note cuz all of a sudden the clicking noise
of keyboards went ballistic!! In my day this was unheard of - guess I
really do need to get out in the real world more often.
As always - folks are always strapped for time. So here
goes my "pitch" - why not take advantage of what's commonly
known as "time shifting"? Use this software to input your notes
(within the editor) then via a click - transform to audio that can be
either burned on a CD-R (with the supplied CD Writer - I suppose this
would be considered the "old fashion way") or transferred to
your MP3 Player (the best new/ way?). This allows you to be driving down
the road listening to your study, lecture or business notes. Man, what I
would of done to be able to do this back when I was going to college - bet
my grades would of been much better!
How about creating audio eBooks that can be listened to
from your home/ car CD or MP3 Player? We've made this easy as pie - you
won't believe how easy it is to transform a selection of over one million
titles! Don't have the time to sit in front of a puter reading a web site?
You can even convert a set of web pages to audio - in just a few minutes -
listen to the content while driving, standing in a line at Wal-Mart or
wherever via your MP3 Player.
The ability to listen to, instead of reading your notes,
will surly afford you more time to do other stuff. Instead of wasting all
that driving time (or other "dead time") - put it to use by
reviewing your notes! Now you may be thinking "I use a portable tape
recorder to record class lectures - why would I use this method?" I
guess my answer would be "Isn't it obvious? How much of the lecture
is important enough that requires listening to over and over to be able to
fully understand the content? Note taking is used to only record stuff
that needs further understanding or to lock into your memory."
Review your presentations via the "spoken word".
Have you ever noticed how you can write something that looks correct but
when spoken it just comes out wrong? Input your text into the application
then click the PLAY button to hear it spoken!
How?
Very advanced Text 2 Speech/ Audio conversion. Will accept
both SAPI4 and SAPI5 text to speech engines ("techy stuff" that
you really don't need to understand as the software just will magically
recognize most any T2S engine you have installed on your system). We even
give you several within the software's setup and a link to download more.
Find the T2S engine that suits your style.
Ability to do most any type editing to your loaded file.
Convert TXT or RTF files to WAV, MP3, OGG, VOX, AU, AIFF,
MP4 or FLAC audio file format via a click. Set to any of the many
supported "sample rates" (mono, stereo, BPS, Hz).
Option to speed up or slow down the conversion. Merely set
the speed slider then convert/ record the text to audio at that set speed.
This is great for "power users" that want to really "get
with it" or folks, with something like ADD, that need things slowed
down.
Have the software speak all or just a highlighted portion
of your loaded file - same deal with converting to audio (all or part - so
you can record "chapters" or "tracks" if desired).
Includes a text based eBook Web Browser where you can get then edit, save,
save as audio over one million 100% FREE titles.
Yep, there's much more. Just download this fully functional
full version and give it a test drive?
Has been tested to be compatible with Windows 98, 98SE, ME,
2000, XP & Vista (including Vista 64-bit).
Here are some samples of text converted to audio (mp3
files) using the "Text Shifter" which is our most advanced text 2
audio solution. Please keep in mind that if you were to convert the
text to a higher quality "sample rate" then these files were (needed
to convert to a lower quality rate to stream off the net) that the sound
quality would be much better (used to burn on CD-R or put on your MP3 Player).
This software is entirely
freeware. Free of charge, adware and/ or spyware. It
will never expire and you can use it free forever.
Disclaimer: if you are a user of our
"Wave MP3 Editor" (version v15.5 +) then you
all ready have this application included as a tool. It
is the exact same thing!
