AUDIO TYPE SOFTWARE

Shoutcast Player & Recorder - released to the membership 02.24.2017

What-U-Hear URL Timed Recorder - released to the membership 02.17.2017

Features that you're sure to like:

* Most all audio recorders rely on your systems' soundcard having the option to set, as the record source, to 'stereo mix' or 'what-u-hear' if you want to record streaming audio (i.e. the sound from *Youtube videos, etc.) As you know - most Wins 7 and 8 systems no longer offer this option; therefore, you have been locked out of recording sounds coming out of your speakers (streaming audio off the iNet). This advanced recorder requires absolutely NO such abilities of the sound card as well as no special drivers you have to deal with - IT JUST WORKS!

* Designed under the "KISS" theory - keeping it simple, but yet innovative and easy to use, was our main design goal.

* This software is designed to split a recording track at any time you click the 'Split Now!' button OR just act as a normal 'what-u-hear recorder' (Start/ Stop) OR set it to record music streamed from a iNet Radio Station (URL) for a certain (user defined) amount of time.

* It automatically records using a date/ time format as the file name; however, after you either elect to 'Split' or 'Stop' the recording session - it will rename the file name to the text you have entered in the 'Title' ID Tag text field (if you have set the Check Box to positive).

* Records to what ever audio format and sample rate you have selected (i.e WAV, MP3, OGG or WMA, etc.): the recordings are better quality then using the "stereo mix" function of your sound-card (if you happen to have this option) as it uses advanced technology (WASAPI).

* Compatible with Windows Vista, 7 and 8 (32 and 64-bit versions) plus Windows 10 Ready. Sorry but no XP.

Programming Note: this app is similar to a "Timed Recorder" that I released a few years ago; however, this new version uses new technology (WASPI) to record any sound coming from the speakers instead of having to set the record source to "Stereo Mix" or "What-U-Hear" (values that most newer computer soundcards do NOT OFFER any more).

Web Speakster Audio Publisher - released to the membership 02.06.2017

There's a lot to explain about this software so you might want to just download this help file to check it out...

And here's a demo web page message that was created and published by this software...

What the heck does this software do?

This is not to be confused with any of the popular so-called social media sites - but, rather a semi-private form of communications.

Allows recording via microphone (or any other record source your system supports) or select a pre-recorded file to be used as your email audio message. Embeds the audio (MP3) message into a web page then uploads to your unique URL where the audio message can be reviewed: your message web page and URL (hosted on our server) are as private as it can be on the iNet (i.e. no web page listing it and available to the public like Facebook, etc.)

Gives you the option to send your audio message to one or 100's of recipients at lightning speed. Great for marketing, newsletter campaigns or use as a "keep in touch with family" thing !

Uses the email settings that your INTERNET provider has supplied just like MS Live Mail or any other email client software.

Has been tested compatible with all Windows versions since 98.

aPlayer

Redefined Audio Editor

This Audio Editor was designed with you in mind. Gone is the common practice of using small screens, small font size and adding lots of tiny icons that tend to create eye stress & confusion.

For years - software developers and programmers have been working hard to make software interfaces more "sexy" to appeal to the younger generation - but what about us folks that like to keep things simple (or we're 'low sighted') but without sacrificing quality: we're not looking for software apps to be 'dumbed down' but merely easier to use (with an interface we can actually see!).

Features:

  • Easy to use interface - gets you  started editing in just minutes.

  • Large fonts that you, most likely, can see easily.

  • Simple 'hot keys' for most all functions.

  • Edit audio files visually. Apply various effects and filters easily.

  • Real-time effect preview - apply it, see it.

  • Powerful noise reduction filters.

  • Supports a number of file formats including wav (multiple bit-rates), mp3, wma, ogg and many more.

  • Easy to use bookmark system/ function.

  • Split large audio files to separate tracks easily - ID tag them automatically.

  • Options to configure colors and other attributes of the wave form.

  • Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8 (32 and 64-bit): Windows 10 ready.

Trackster:

This app was designed to make it a very easy task to either split a large audio file (such as an album into tracks) or combine files to create an audio album.

Features:

  • Is an "Audio Editor" type app that was specifically designed to be an audio splitter and/ or album maker.

  • Supports saving a file or tracks to WAV, MP3, OGG, FLAC and/ or WMA format.

  • The 'Save As' and/ or "Save Tracks As' function gives you the option to add ID tags (including album art) to any audio format that supports this function.

  • The "Break it" mode (used to split the master file into separate tracks) allows you to either set the break points (where the master file is split) manually or via a powerful "Analyze by Silence" function.

    • Several basic editing functions are supported.

  • The "Make it" mode (used to add files to create an audio album) allows you to add as many files as wanted then save as a master (album) file.

    • Several basic editing functions are supported.

  • Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8 (32 and 64-bit): Wins 10 ready.

Audio ID Tag Magic v3.1

This software is an easy solution for correcting several problems, that most of us encounter, when we have ton's of audio files on our computer system.
The problems this software will help you solve:

  • Use the "Find Duplicates Mode" scan to search your system for duplicate MP3 and/ or WMA audio files: Gives you the option to rename or delete duplicate files.

    • Duplicate files are a real pain in the neck. They accumulate on your hard drive with you none the wiser, waste disk space and make you confused when you can't tell which is which. Worse still, they can slow down your computer and make tasks like disk defrag and virus scans take ages. This is why deleting duplicate files, while a little time consuming, is a must.

  • Having ID tags embedded within your MP3 and WMA audio files just makes playing and managing your audio files more efficient and pleasant. This software has several advanced features that will make this task a lot easier - they are:.

    • Use the "Set ID Tags" function to edit or place ID tags in your MP3 or WMA audio files.

    • Option to search the "Amazon" cover art data base (on-line) for cover art that is available for the audio file. If found will give you the option to add as a ID tag via a click.

    • Option to drag and drop a cover art image you want embedded as a ID tag. This function is included so that you can use any image you might want. Do an "image web search" and find whatever image you might want to embed.

    • Option to search an on-line data base for the lyrics to the audio file. Click the "Search on-line for Lyrics" button and let it do it's thing. If it finds the lyrics it will give you the option to edit and/ or add as an ID tag - all via a click.

    • If the software does not find the lyrics text - you can do a web search and most likely find it via the many "Lyric Search" web sites - then merely copy and paste them into the software's "Lyrics ID text field". We have a web page that you might find handy here...

    • Options to play, rename, move or delete any audio file listed.

Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8 (32 and 64-bit versions) plus Windows 10 Ready.

Audio Overdub Mixer:

This is a specialized, high-tech, audio mixer tool that makes mixing or overdubbing audio files easy as pie!

While it's true that you can beat your head against the wall to mix files with an audio editor: this software just makes mixing audio files much easier and is a pleasure to work with.

Just some of the features:
* Cut and paste sounds ( MP3s, WMAs, WAVs) quickly and easy! Includes 2 independent audio editors.
* Each editor has the ability to record from any source your sound-card allows.
* Mix, record or overdub WAV and WMA & MP3 files as you will.
* Each deck/ editor has slider controls that allow you to set the temp and/ or pitch in real time (as the file is playing). Option to save these effects into the file if "Saved As".
* Has options to apply many effects to any file loaded within any of the editors (i.e. fade in/ out, normalize, amplify volume and much more...)
* Export mix as a single WAV, MP3 or OGG file.
* Use it for just an audio editor if you want - it does a good job of that too!
* There's just all kinds of mixing "trickery" you can perform with this software: mix'em up any way you want with other advanced features it offers.

Just some of what this "Super Mixer" can do for you:
* Load a master file into any of the editor "decks" then play that "deck" as you record in the editor/ deck. After you created your "overdub" recording - elect to mix into the master file. It's easy - it's fun! You can sing along with the best bands in the world: as the song goes "We all just want to be big rock stars..." and with this software you might just make the cut!
* Be creative and mix up your favorite tunes then burn to an audio CD or publish on the iNet.
* I could go on forever but surly you get the point? If not, then it's just not your "thing" I guess;-(

Some 'tips and tricks':

* Supports large files
* Use the Undo and Redo functions to get your mix just right. This allows you to experiment with different mixing possibilities without starting all over again.

MP3 Volume Normalizer:

Tired of reaching for your volume knob every time your mp3 player changes to a new song? This software analyzes and adjusts mp3 files so that they have the same volume.

Analyzes mp3 files to determine how loud they sound to the human ear. It can then adjust the mp3 files so that they all have the same loudness without any quality loss. This way, you don't have to keep reaching for the volume dial on your mp3 player every time it switches to a new song.

Operates in two modes, Track and Album:

Track mode volume-corrects a mix of unrelated songs to a selected level. Calculates the volume level for each song individually. It then corrects each song to make its volume level match the Target Volume.
For example, if you have 3 songs that have volume levels of 86, 91 and 89 dB and you use Track Gain to convert them to a Target Volume of 92 dB, they will all be at approximately 92 dB.

Album mode volume-corrects a collection of related songs (as they would appear on a CD, or "album") relative to other collections of songs. Applying Album gain is like adjusting the volume knob once for each CD you put in your CD player. The overall volume of the album is adjusted to the Target Volume, but the volume differences between the mp3s in the album are preserved.
For example, if you have 3 songs that have volume levels of 86, 91 and 89 dB, then the overall volume of this "album" will probably be around 89 dB. If the Target Volume is set to 92 dB, then when you apply Album Gain MP3Gain will increase the volume of each of these songs by +3 dB.

With Album mode, you want some songs to be noticeably quieter than other songs, just like they are on an album. If you're playing a classical CD, you expect the track with the flute solo to be quieter than the track with the big full-orchestra finale. Album mode allows you to correct an entire album while keeping each song's volume level relative to the other songs.

Most programs that "normalize" sound files do so by adjusting all the samples so that the loudest single sample is at some specified value - using a "normalize effect". This is not a good way to make all the files actually have the same loudness. First of all, this method will most likely distort the quality of some of the files. Secondly, the human ear does not hear the loudness of single samples. It averages out sounds over time. Lastly, today's popular music CDs are heavily compressed. The sound engineers making the CD raise the average level so that it sounds much louder, while compressing the loudest parts so that they don't distort.

Lossless Gain Adjustment:

The bad news: This software can only adjust the volume of your mp3 files in steps of 1.5 dB.

The good news: 1.5 dB is a small enough step for most practical purposes. Most humans can just barely hear a volume change of 1 dB.

Some other good news is that this volume adjustment is completely lossless. In other words, if you adjust an mp3 by -6 dB and then if you change your mind, you can adjust it again by +6 dB and it will be exactly the same as it was before you made the first adjustment.

This app has it's own, included, set of help files.

Vocal Reducer:

Removing vocals from an audio track has long been the desire of musicians and remixers in order to obtain the instrumental version of a song, otherwise available only as a complete mix. The sections below explain how this task can be accomplished and some of the problems that can get in the way.

Is Removing Vocals Possible?
Yes and no. Unfortunately, there is no simple answer because it depends on many factors including what instruments and sound elements make up the non-vocal part of the audio signal and how these and the vocals have been processed and mixed into the final recording.

In most cases, you can not expect to get results that are acceptable for professional use. However, in some cases, it is possible to render reasonable output useful in many, non-professional, scenarios. And, once in awhile, it is even possible to get excellent results.

Automatic Approach
A few software programs (including this "Audio Vocal Reducer" software app) are capable of removing vocals from a stereo audio file automatically, eliminating the hassle of the multi-step manual procedure described in the following section.

  1. Open the stereo audio file in an audio editor.

  2. Select and reverse the phase of the left channel (also called Invert or Flip). This option is usually presented in the Edit menu.

  3. Mix both the left and right channels of the stereo file into a single-channel (mono) audio file. This option is also usually found in the Edit menu, but is sometimes accomplished by editing the file's format properties from the File menu.

  4. Split the single-channel audio file back into a stereo file that has the newly mixed single-channel on both the left and right channels. This procedure is usually close to the one used to mix the channels.

  5. Now reverse the phase of the left channel back again, the same way it was accomplished earlier.

The resulting stereo audio file should now contain the same mix with all center-mixed audio cancelled from the mix. Hopefully, the entire instrumental contents will still exist, while the vocals will be canceled, or at least much more quite.

This method of removing vocals can be accomplished fairly easily, but depends greatly on how the entire mix was recorded. This method works when all or most of the non-vocal audio is mixed in stereo (some more to the left and some to the right) and the vocals are mixed in the center. Fortunately, this is common practice in popular music, making it a fairly reasonable method for many songs.

Problems Removing Vocals
Due to the complexity of many music and audio tracks, removing vocals using the method described above may result in poor or useless results. For example, when many of the background elements are also mixed in the center of the stereo spectrum and overlap or share the same frequency range with the vocals, the method above will produce distorted results that have lost much more than just vocals.

Additionally, effects, such as echo and reverb are often applied to vocals before they are recorded to the final mix. Unlike the commonly centered vocals, these effects tend not to be centered, making them difficult to remove. Also, the effects can distort and alter the vocals in ways that result in audio outside the normal vocal frequency range, making it difficult to "EQ out".

With some trial and error, you'll develop an ear for determining which audio tracks contain vocals that can be reduced or completely removed;-)

Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8 (32 and 64-bit versions) plus Windows 10 Ready

KAR Player:

OK - you know what "KAR" files don't you? If not -  the KAR file type is primarily associated with 'Karaoke MIDI File'. The .KAR file format was designed by Tune 1000 Corp: these files are typically only 30 to 80K in size. They have abandoned it, but it is still a prevailing file format in shareware/public domain market. There are literally 10's of thousands of them that can be freely downloaded off the iNet. They add synchronized lyrics to standard MIDI files: this player displays the lyrics synchronized with the music in "follow-the-bouncing-ball" fashion, essentially turning any PC into a powerful karaoke machine.

We have included several KAR files for your enjoyment plus a link (on the about/ help screen) to download thousands more - all for free!

Compatible with Windows XP, Vista and 7 (32 and 64-bit versions).

Options to apply echo, repeat "x" amount of times, loop play, set other parameters. You can create sounds then record/ save them to add as an effect or whatever use you might find. Just a cool tool to play around with as well as, I suppose, there would be some serious use for it too!

Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8 (32 and 64-bit versions) plus Windows 10 Ready

Wild Thing:

This is a very cool MP3 Player that allows you to insert music "samples" into the playing stream.

Batch Equalizer Wizard:

You probably have several equalizers built into your music players. But all they do is equalize the sound while you play a track. They can't EQ 100 tracks at a time for you.
They don't create a new track that you can burn to CD or use as an MP3 file that's already equalized the way you want it wherever you go. So in short, other EQs equalize while you listen ONLY. This software creates all new files, 100 at a time if you like to take with you and listen to anywhere you are, any time you like.

With other EQs, you have to constantly change your EQ settings each time you play a song or in each location that you listen, to get the full impact. Plus most of them aren't 12 bands which is what you really need for professional equalizing. This is the only EQ of its kind.

Left/Right Or Both Tracks, Enhance the Left Track or The Right Track, or set both the same to enhance both tracks together. You're in complete control.

If you're past 50 - most likely your high frequency hearing is getting worse. When you're young you can likely hear 20,000hz perfectly: 30, most likely hearing 16,000hz is probably down 3 to 5 db: 50 or over, your high frequency hearing is most likely much worse. With "Batch Equalizer Wizard" you can now boost the sound spectrum that you've been missing to as many files as you want - all at once in "batch" mode!

It's simple - it's may look frightening at first cuz I'll bet you've never seen anything like this tool before! After you've done it a couple of times you'll forever know the "tricks" and exactly where you want the sliders set.

This tool has it's own help browser that goes into more detailed information. Merely click the HELP icon to activate.

Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and/ or 10 (32 and 64-bit) systems

aTime Shifter

I realize that most folks really won't give a hoot about my long drawn out description of this software but maybe it's something that will help YOU become more productive.

I've been promoting "text 2 speech" software technology for years now and to be honest nobody seemed to be very interested - most all of us hated the talking paperclip and Bob (Microsoft's talking help character). text 2 speech was always kind of a fun thing - but not used to it's full extent. I think that maybe the time just wasn't right for computers that talk to you as seen on Star Trek: but maybe it's day has arrived if it were used in a new way?

What?

"Time Shifting" - Time shifting is the process of recording and storing data for later viewing, listening, or reading. In a workplace setting, the term "time shifting" is sometimes used in reference to flextime (flexible hours of work). In communications, the term "time shifting" refers to the transmission of messages or data to be read, heard, or viewed by the recipient at a later time.

Why?

More students and business people now attend classes, lectures and meetings with their laptops in tow - using it to take digital notes instead of via paper and pen. A few years ago this was not so due to the high cost of laptops and low battery life. I have been out of school for over 10 years and was recently invited to speak at a computer programming class at my local college. I was AMAZED at the fact that almost every student was taking notes on their laptops: you knew when you said something that struck a note cuz all of a sudden the clicking noise of keyboards went ballistic!! In my day this was unheard of - guess I really do need to get out in the real world more often?

As always - most folks find themselves strapped for time. So here goes my "pitch" - why not take advantage of what's commonly known as "time shifting"? Use this software to input your notes (within the editor) then via a click - transform to audio that can be either burned on a CD-R (I suppose this would be considered the "old fashion way") or transferred to your MP3 Player or cell phone (the best new way?). This allows you to be driving down the road listening to your study, lecture or business notes. Man, what I would of done to be able to do this back when I was going to college - bet my grades would of been much better!

How about creating audio eBooks that can be listened to from your home or car CD player, MP3 Player or cell phone? Here's a sample you can listen to... We've made this easy as pie - you won't believe how easy it is to transform a selection of over one million titles! Don't have the time to sit in front of a computer reading a web site? You can even convert a set of web pages to audio - in just a few minutes - listen to the content while driving, standing in a line at Wal Mart or wherever via your MP3 Player or cell phone. Listen or save the audio file of this app intro here...

Have you noticed that there are ton's of free e books, offered on the web, that are in PDF format? (here's an example - http://www.obooko.com/ - just one of many). Within this software you'll find a tool to convert these PDF files to text so that they can be loaded in this software then converted to audio: a conversion tool that you will have a hard time finding for free!

The ability to listen to, instead of reading your notes, will surly afford you more time to do other stuff. Instead of wasting all that driving time (or other "dead time") - put it to use by reviewing your notes! Now you may be thinking "Well dah, I use a portable tape recorder to record class lectures - why would I use this method?" I guess my answer would be "Isn't it obvious? How much of the lecture is important enough that requires listening to over and over to be able to fully understand the content? Note taking is used to only record stuff that needs further understanding or to lock into your memory."

How?

This software offers very advanced Text 2 Speech Audio conversion abilities. Will accept both SAPI4 and SAPI5 text to speech engines ("techy stuff" that you really don't need to understand as the software will just magically recognize most any T2S engine you have installed on your system). Most all Windows systems will have at least one T2S engine installed as default. We even give you links to download more - find the T2S engine that suits your style.

Ability to do most any type editing to your loaded file.

Convert TXT or RTF files to WAV, MP3, OGG, VOX, AU, AIFF, MP4 or FLAC audio file format via a click. Set to any of the many supported "sample rate" (mono, stereo, kBPS, kHz).

Includes tools to convert PDF or DOC files to text so that the content can be loaded (and converted) within this software. Now-a-days the PDF file format is being used more and more for 'e books' offered on the iNet.

Option to speed up or slow down the conversion. Merely set the speed slider then convert/ record the text to audio at that set speed. This is great for "power users" that want to really "get with it" or folks, with something like ADD, that need things slowed down.

Have the software speak all or just a highlighted portion of your loaded file - same deal with converting to audio (all or part - so you can record "chapters" or "tracks" if desired).

Includes a simple Audio Player, Batch Text 2 Audio Converter, Voice Recorder (in case you might want to record the loaded text via your voice instead of T2S), MP3 ID Tag Editor and a text based eBook Web Browser where you can get, then edit and save as audio - over one million 100% FREE titles.

Has been tested to be compatible (all except the 'Voice Recorder' tool which does not support Wins 2000 or XP) with Windows 2000, XP & Vista, 7, 8 and 10 (32 and 64-bit).

Batch Text 2 Audio Converter (text 2 speech/ audio):

Do you ever want to convert text to audio - in batch mode? This app can convert text to most any popular audio format 'on the fly' using the state of art text to speech (TTS) system. It converts text to audio directly without generating any other temporary files. To use -  merely add your txt (or rtf) files to the list, select the target path for converted files to reside, select what audio format/ sample rate to convert to then click the "Convert List" button.

Although there are Speech Application Interface (SAPI) on windows, the interface is very complex. Especially there are two major SAPI versions (SAPI4 and SAPI5) existing, which are not compatible between each other. So if you want to use SAPI4 and SAPI5 compatible engines (there are a lot of free SAPI4 voices on internet, so SAPI4 is still useful) , you have to spend double effort. Based on such fact, this app wraps SAPI4 and SAPI5 into a common interface which is efficient and easy to use.

It converts text to speech on the fly, no temporary files are needed. It directly encodes the speech output from TTS engines to audio file. And it supports a lot of major audio formats.

Just some of what this software can help you do:

Code-it Software, Inc. has been developing Text 2 Speech applications/ solutions since 1996. Our experience has been that most T2S applications are being used just for fun - they are fun to mess around with but are not being used to their full potential by the average user.

  • Create Audio eBooks - take advantage of the Project Gutenberg which offers a huge amount of free text (and HTM) formatted e-books. Record these free books to audio (WAV, MP3 or WMA format) then burn on an audio CD-R for your listening pleasure any where, any time.

  • Time shifting! This, in my mind, is the biggest feature of T2S that users have been missing. You can easily listen to any text content that has been recorded to audio at any free time you may have. Studying for a test at college? Record the content to CD-R or load it into your MP3 player - have it available while you are driving or waiting in line to get lunch, etc. Are you a business man or woman that needs to make a speech or presentation when you get to work? Use your commute driving time to refresh your mind of the content - recorded to CD-R and played in the car CD player or recorded to MP3 and loaded into a MP3 player. The possibilities are almost endless how "time shifting" can enhance your life and make use of "dead time".

  • Use to learn or teach English (or any of the other supported Text 2 Speech engine languages) as a second language.

  • Review your presentations via the "spoken word". Have you ever noticed how you can write something that looks correct but when spoken it just comes out wrong? Input your text into the application then click the PLAY button to hear it spoken!

  • much more...

Just some of the features:

  • Will detect and list any and all text 2 speech engines installed on your system. This includes the older SAPI4 as well as the newer SAPI5 type engines/ voices.

  • Option to use any installed text 2 speech engine/ voice.

  • Option to set the file format (WAV, MP3, WMA and others) of any audio file (converted from text to audio) saved.

  • Option to set the Audio Sample Rate of any audio file (converted from text to audio) saved.

  • Option to set the speed rate, pitch and volume of speech output.

  • Converts text to audio without creation of any temp files - encodes on the fly.

  • Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and/ or 10 (32 and 64-bit) systems

Revision History: 01.17.2016

  • version number from v2.7 to v3.0

  • revised so will accept and convert very large txt or rtf files

  • added a "stop" button/ function - stops conversion process loop

OTHER TYPE SOFTWARE

Mind Mapster - released to the membership 02.12.2017

Many people have heard of Mind Mapping/ Maps but simply have never evaluated the idea behind them – although probably the most revolutionary tool to assist thinking and learning in decades.

Mind Mapping is the process of visually depicting a central concept with symbols, key words, images, numbers, rhythm, color and spatial awareness. Mind Mapping mimics the way our brains’ naturally work. It is a powerful graphic technique which provides a universal key to unlocking the potential of the brain.

Let me be honest and forthright: this software is basically just a glorified graphics editor designed to create "Mind Maps" easily. It's not as fancy as some others offered but if you check out the cost of these others you may be shocked. But the best thing about it is - it'll do anything those others will!

This software will help you implement the uniquely powerful technique of "mind mapping". You might use our "Mind Mapster" software for numerous reasons:

  • to make learning come alive

  • to raise self-esteem and engage others

  • develop Cooperative Learning through group Mind Mapping

  • for Planning and Presenting

  • for Note Taking and Note Making

  • to help develop Creative Thinking

  • to dramatically enhance Problem Solving

  • to aid in Decision Making

  • to Brainstorm and enhance motivation

Compatible with all versions of Windows since 98

Phrase Manager - released 02.01.2017

If you use the same phrase in most of your documents (or emails) then this simple to use software will save you lots of typing. Merely name and save your text (can also add an image) then retrieve it at any time, copy to the clipboard ready to paste into your document. Consider this a "macro instruction manager" (a computer instruction that initiates a set of instructions to perform a specific task).

Stop Watch - released 01.15.2017

This is a simple "Stop Watch" that you might find handy to time events happening on your computer system. I developed it, mainly for my own use, as I found I was frequently timing how fast my code was performing (i.e. how long did it take to load a 1.5 Gig file into one of our Audio Editors, etc...). Maybe you have a need for it too?

Digital Calendar

A handy digital calendar that sits in your system tray at the ready. Option to activate at Wins startup as well as to add/ edit "reminder" notes that pertain to the day selected.

Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8 (32 and 64-bit versions) plus Windows 10 Ready

Video Slideshow Helper:

Yep.. I know. Microsoft gives you "Live Movie Maker" on most Windows systems for free - as part of the "Windows Essentials": it would be foolish, on our part, to think we could compete with it! It's a great program that I have personally used for years: it includes many features but lacks TWO MAJOR functions that I find very frustrating of not being included. So, what are these functions that are solved by using "Video Slideshow Helper"?

Creating your slideshow video is easy as 1, 2, 3.

  • STEP #1 - For the created slideshow type video to show images properly they all need to be the same size. Of course you can fire up an image editor and do all this resizing OR you can just use this software to create them (slideshow frames) before you compile the video (see screen shot #1).

  • Step #2 - OKAY, you've got all your images resized and ready to produce a video slideshow - but how do you sync audio (your recorded message to each frame)? "Live Movie Maker" offers no solution to record in sync - sure they allow you to add 'background music' but that's not going to cut it in most cases! I'm generally not going to want background music playing but rather my recorded voice being synced with the frames (message). We've made it easy as pie to sync your voice recording to the slideshow images (see the second screen shot). Just click the "Sync" button and record during the automatic display of your images - set the frame interval anywhere from a 5 to 20 second duration (whatever time duration that allows you to get your spoken message across).

  • Step #3 - After you have created your slideshow images and synced recording - open up "Live Movie Maker" then load all your project files (slideshow images & audio recording) - enhance the video if you want (i.e. add animations, visual effects, etc...) and BANG you're done!

  • It's a perfect companion app for "Windows Live Movie Maker" that helps you to produce slideshow videos that can be published on Youtube or any other video sharing (or personal) site! Here's a demo of a video produced via this software...

Compatible with Windows Vista, 7 and 8 (32 and 64-bit versions) plus Windows 10 Ready.

SECURITY TYPE SOFTWARE

Image Steganography Coder: released 02.10.2017

Can you read (or detect) the encrypted text content thats embedded within the Mono Lisa image? No? Well, you can "write to" and "read from" any image with this software.

Steganography is a fascinating and effective method of hiding data that has been used throughout history. Methods that can be employed to uncover such devious tactics, but the first step are awareness that such methods even exist. There are many good reasons as well to use this type of data hiding, including watermarking or a more secure central storage method for such things as passwords, or key processes. Regardless, the technology is easy to use and difficult to detect.

File Terminator:

We all know that when you delete a file from your system that it's not really gone. If you happen to have any really confidential data on your system (most of us do but may not even realize what the repercussions could be if it were retrieved by someone wanting to do us harm) then you need software such as this that will protect you.

Opens then overwrites the files data several times before killing it (killing is different then just deleting). Load as many files as you want or easier yet - folders full of files, then click the "Secure Wipe" button. BOOM! they are then REALLY gone!

Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and/ or 10 (32 and 64-bit) systems

Drive & Folder Watcher:

Use to watch, in real time, files being modified or created on a drive or within a specified folder. A good way to check your system for any screen or key-loggers running in the background. A nice little computer forensic utility app.

Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and/ or 10 (32 and 64-bit) systems

Kid CyberSitter

How much should parents monitor their child’s online activities?

While there are many opinions on this topic, truthfully - no one but you can answer this question. As a parent, it’s important to consider your child’s safety, responsibility and privacy on the Internet, but it can be difficult to know how to go about it. I believe that fostering critical thinking skills in children’s online habits is vital; however, sometimes it can be necessary to monitor online activity in order to help keep children safe and hold them accountable for their actions on the Internet.

This software was designed to do just that - monitor (and log) all INTERNET activity - allowing you to keep track of what's going on in your kid's cyber world.

Features that you'll like: features I have NOT included also explained...

  • Most software apps, of this type, are offered/ sold on a "subscription" basis. Requiring you pay a monthly or yearly fee to keep the software activated. I have elected NOT to go this route. Why?  It would produce a lot more income - but call me "old fashioned" - I personally despise subscription based software and my thought is that maybe you might too?

  • This software does NOT send your logged information to a web server - requiring you to log in to view. Why? While it definitely is more convenient for you as the parent - I wouldn't want my child's information stored on some companies web server. Again.. call me old fashioned.

  • Option to activate at Windows startup - this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

  • It automatically records/ logs all web sites visited: records the date and time, logged in users name and  URL visited.

    • This app will log URls when using Microsoft IE and/ or FireFox web browsers only but will however take a screen shot (of the active window) of any browser or app.

  • Runs in "invisible mode". The software is invisible until/ unless you activate it to show via the "Show Me" hotkey combo.

  • Does not show up in the systems "uninstall listing" nor in the "Task Manager" as an application running.

  • Gives you the option to log a screen shot of the active window - you can select any interval from 1 to 3 minutes.

  • Gives you the option to display a "warning screen" (informing the user that their activity is being recorded) - you can select any interval from 2 to 10 minutes.

  • Gives you the option to set the "Show Me" hotkey - this is used to show the app's screen so you can view the log vies, view screen shots, change option values or exit the software.

  • Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 & 10 (32 and 64-bit versions).

  •  License to install/ run on as many personal (family) systems as desired. Updates are always free here at Code-it.

NOTE: It may be against the law (in your state or country) to install/ run this type software on any computer system that you are not the owner of or is not in your control. Code-it Software Solutions will not be help responsible for your misuse!

WIDGET TYPE SOFTWARE

Unlike what you might think of when you see the word "widget" - these are very POWERFUL PC apps to help get your work done easily and more efficient!

They are all larger then normal icons that have the option to activate at Windows startup (recommended) so they're 'at the ready' at all times  - residing on your desktop. They remember where you have placed them (on your desktop) and thus go there when activated. No ole fashion square screens - they are exactly what is shown on this page.

URL Project Manager

- this is a screen shot of the software (actual size) that will reside on your desktop. Move it anywhere you might want via left mouse click the drag and drop functions - the software will 'remember' the last place you put it and will place it there the next time it is activated.

It is somewhat like a "widget type" software application: takes up very little 'real estate' on your desktop and is ready for action at all times it is running/ active

URL Project Manager provides an easy way to keep track of all the URLs (links) that you gather in the process of any research project. Handy for students or just us plain folks that use the vast resources on the iNet to gather information pertaining to a certain subject.

The main function of this software is that it allows you to create, and manage a "Project" web page (html file) and records the URLs (web page links) that you want to save for future use. This is more or less like creating a new folder (in your web browser) then as you are doing your research - adding the findings (URLs) within that folder EXCEPT this software provides attributes that make researching a subject much easier and efficient. This version also allows you to add 'notes', to the project page, at will.

Has been tested compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10 (32 and 64-bit).

To automatically detect, and log, current URLs currently within your web browser - you need to use either Microsoft IE or Mozilla Firefox web browsers. If you use a different web browser you will have to copy and paste the URL into the softwares' text field which, of course, will not be as handy.

Protected Passwords:

Do you find yourself 'pulling out your hair' trying to remember the 'username' and 'password' required to enter a web site? Those days will be over by using this app! Uses encryption to keep your passwords out of the hands of snoopers.

The number of passwords, we modern users, must remember isn't getting any smaller. From social media to shopping sites, Web-based mail to online banking, site after site demands a username and password. Using the same password for all of them is a really, really bad idea, since a single data breach would totally wipe out your online privacy. But remembering dozens and dozens of passwords (over 50 in my case) just isn't feasible. Most of us just write them down/ store for future reference - a security breach for sure!

That's where our "Protected Password" PC software saves the day. Secured by a single password (the default password is 'password' until you change), something you can remember but nobody else would guess, it stores your passwords and automatically recalls them as needed. The password storage file is encrypted so that it can't be understood when/ if viewed by others.

This PC software is something you'll definitely want, and use. It's a 'widget type' app that resides on your desktop: allows you to add/ edit/ view your username and passwords as long as you have passed the password challenge.

  • Option to set to run/ activate at Windows startup (highly recommended).

  •  'Remembers' where you have placed this 'widget type' app on your desktop - places it back to this location upon activation.

  • Requires very little desktop 'real estate' (the GUI is exactly like the above image) -  configure to activate it at Wins startup and it will be handy at all times.

  • Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8 (32 and 64-bit versions) plus Windows 10 Ready.

We highly recommend that you test any encryption type software (including ours) on non-critical data before relying on it!

Web Runner:

This is a 'widget type' app that was developed due to a request from a member.

 What is it?

  •  gives you the option to select a URL as well as the web browser used to activate it - adds this info into the 'run screen' - for folks that want certain URL's to be activated within a certain web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Chrome, Fire Fox, etc...).

    • you might want to do this so that your choice of the web browser displays the font size it is configured to, remembers your passwords, or for what ever reason.

  • option to set to run/ activate at Windows startup (highly recommended)

  • 'remembers' where you have placed this 'widget type' app on your desktop - places it back to this location upon activation

  • takes up very little desktop 'real estate' - just an attractive large sized icon residing on your desktop ready for action

Web Runner provides single list of Sites & allows the user to specify the best browser for the selected site; thus, just clicking on the Web Runner URL Shortcut Name, quickly activates the desired selection.

Examples:

AccuWeather on FireFox (http://www.accuweather.com)

Radar on IE (http://radar.weather.gov)

Maps on Chrome (https://www.google.com/maps)

You can add your specific location to the end of the above links.

History: 03.18.2015 revised so that the 'run screen' is resizable.

Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and/ or 10 (32 and 64-bit) systems

File Guardian - we all know that encryption of your sensitive data is truly the only way to protect it: this app will manage this task easily. Encrypt/ decrypt files (or folders of files) fast and securely!

Snoopers/ hackers can easily access files and passwords on your computer, even without your Windows password. All they have to do is insert a special disc (such as UBCD4Win or Hiren's BootCD) into your computer and power it up. The computer will then boot from the operating system on the disc, bypassing the Windows operating system installed on the PC (and any passwords you have set ) - giving the intruder access to your files.

If you want to protect your computer from this type of attack, you have to encrypt the files that you want others not to be able to access. That's where this simple to use "File Guardian" widget comes into play.

Features:

  • developed under the K.I.S.S. method - you'll be happy it's that way!

  • uses fast and efficient AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) 128-bit keyword military grade encryption..

  • allows up to 20 char passwords/ keyword to be used - the longer used the stronger the encryption

  • option to set to run/ activate at Windows startup (highly recommended)..

  •  'remembers' where you have placed this 'widget type' app on your desktop - places it back to this location upon activation

  • takes up very little desktop 'real estate' - just an attractive large sized icon residing on your desktop ready for action

  • there is NO backdoor 'keyword/ password' - PLEASE REMEMBER THE PASSWORD PHRASE USED!

  • requires very little desktop 'real estate' (the GUI is exactly like the above image) -  configure to activate it at Wins startup and it will be handy at all times.

  •  compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and/ or 10 (32 and 64-bit) systems..

We highly recommend that you test any encryption type software (including ours) on non-critical data before relying on it!

Do so by activating the menu then selecting the 'Capture The Selected Screen Portion' option. This will allow you to select any portion of the active screen and save as a BMP image for later use.

* You also have the option to use the normal Windows 'Print Screen (PS)' key (to capture the complete desktop screen) OR the 'ALT+Print Screen (PS)' keys (to capture the active screen). Use the 'Capture Clipboard Image' menu option to place into the software for saving as a BMP image."

* Requires very little desktop 'real estate' (the GUI is exactly like the above image)  and system recourses -  configure to activate it at Wins startup and it will be handy at all times

My To-Do List

If you're anything like me - the first thing you do every morning is grab a cup of coffee, check your email then make a 'to do list' of all the stuff you want (or have) to do as the day rolls along. That's where this handy little widget can help you get organized!

Features:

* use it to manage your 'to do' list.

* option to set to run/ activate at Windows startup (highly recommended)

* 'remembers' where you have placed this 'widget type' app on your desktop - places it back to this location upon activation

* takes up very little desktop 'real estate' - just an attractive large sized icon residing on your desktop ready for action

* option to print your list if you need to take it with you
