Version history, re-download and upgrade policies...

Our upgrade policy is simple and straight forward. Version updates (Major and Minor) are always free: all that's required to get the newest version is to email mb@code-it.com with your request AND some "proof of registration". I'll send you a personalized download link, in response to your request, within 24 hours.

What is the difference between a "MINOR" and "MAJOR" version?

Major version updates are defined by the first set of the version number (i.e. V2010.4 - 2010 would be the major version number). Major versions are released approx. once a year - they include more features or an updated interface.

Minor version updates are defined by the second set of the version number (i.e. V2010.4 - 4 would be the minor version number). Minor versions are released to fix any bugs reported or other minor updates.

What is meant by "proof of registration"?
Your order number, a copy of the registration conformation email or at the very least your name, email address, date of registration and software title you registered.

FAQ: "You say you need some "proof of registration" for me to get an update. Well... my computer crashed and destroyed my registration conformation email so I don't have it. What now?"

ANSWER: First off - you were strongly advised to backup the order number and conformation email when you registered so as to receive future updates.. THIS IS/ WAS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY! How to preserve? Simply print out a copy of the conformation email and file it away - this is good practice when registering any software! No (or hardly any) software company will just give you a registered version of their stuff without some "proof of registration". Requests like "I think I registered about two and a half years ago and probably used me@whatever.com or mine@mine.com as my email address..." just ain't going to cut it: will be completely ignored.

FAQ: "I had "v.what-ever" installed (or lost due to system crash) then you gave me an upgrade to the newest version. The problem is that I don't like the newest version as well. I want a download to the older version. Why won't you supply it to me?"

ANSWER:  You ask for the update - we didn't solicit you doing so via any marketing campaign; therefore, we think it was YOUR responsibility to check out what revisions were made and determine if you really wanted it: we are always available to answer any questions or concerns - it's as simple as asking mb@code-it.com

You were also strongly advised to backup any setup file(s) after downloading - did you ignore this advise? If you'd of done this you could re-install what ever version you wanted.

We offer updates for a REASON - being bug fixes, added features or complying with compatibility issues. For us to supply you with an old version, that we knew had issues, just wouldn't be right!

01.17.2012 - released v12.3 of Wave MP3 Editor PRO

Due to many customer requests - added a "VST enabled" Audio Editor as a tool. Review the product page for a screen shot...

For those that might prefer to take advantage of applying "VST" effects - this Audio Editor (added as a tool) gives you that option: VST instruments and VST MIDI effects are not currently supported. It is an advanced Editor that uses a different "engine" then the main Editor - giving you a somewhat different set of options to enchance your audio files.

Steinberg's Virtual Studio Technology (VST) is an interface for integrating software audio synthesizer and effect plugins with audio editors and hard-disk recording systems. VST and similar technologies use Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to simulate traditional recording studio hardware with software. Thousands of VST plug-ins exist and can be found and downloaded off the net (lot's are offered free).

12.28.2011 - released v12.2 of Wave MP3 Editor PRO

  • added a very cool "Track Splitter and Merger" app as a tool

  • updated the iNet Radio station play-list

  • fixed a bug in the "Remove hiss" function of the advanced audio editor

09.10.2011 - revised "Wave MP3 Editor Classic"

  • v11.5

  • eliminated the option to set custom effect/ filter settings

  • eliminated the option to save right or left channels

  • these changes make it more in line with being "basis"; thus, "classic"

08.24.2011 - revised the color of the "Batch Transformer" tool that is included within our "Wave MP3 Editor PRO". Was getting a few user comments that the bright blue color was "hard on the eyes". Not really sure that I personally like the change but your "mileage may vary".

08.13.2011 - released new version of our "Audio Blender". Included this new "Batch Equalizer Wizard" app within - puts this app "over the top" I would think.

06.28.2011 = released v11.4 of "Wave MP3 Editor PRO"

The following are the revisions made:

  • version number changed from v11.3.1 to v11.4

  • added the following tools:

    • Album Maker

    • Wild Thing (player)

    • File Coppers (4 methods)

    • CD Cover Art Editor

    • CD Cover Print

    • CD Image Builder

06.07.2011 = released v2011.12 of "Code-it Audio Solutions"

The following are the revisions made:

  • version number changed from v2011.11 to v2011.12

  • replaced the "Advanced Audio Editor" with the latest version

  • replaced the "Simple Audio Editor" with the latest version

  • added option to change "skin" color of the main menu screen

  • make main menu screen slightly less in height to give you more "screen real-estate"

  • replaced the "CD 2 MP3 Ripper" with the latest version - now has options to rip the complete CD, options to pint or save any "cover art" that might be present in the MP3 tag

  • updated the "iNet Retriever/ Recorder" play-list

  • added "Live Spectrum" tool - displays sound coming from your speakers, headphones or recording input devise. Handy for analyzing sound as well as using for "eye candy".

  • added "Broadcast it!" tool - turn your computer into a "PA System" with this tool

  • added "Recorded Audio Editor" tool - this audio recorder combines a super "real time" recorder along with an audio editor that allows you to do certain editing to the recorded file before saving to MP3. Add background music, delete silence, insert silence, mix to name just a few things you can do with this recorder/ editor.

  • added "MP3 Volume Normailzer" - tired of reaching for your volume knob every time your mp3 player changes to a new song? This software analyzes and adjusts mp3 files so that they have the same volume. Analyzes mp3 files to determine how loud they sound to the human ear. It can then adjust the mp3 files so that they all have the same loudness without any quality loss. This way, you don't have to keep reaching for the volume dial on your mp3 player every time it switches to a new song.

  • added "Name That Tune" game

  • added a "Games" button to the main menu screen - at this time only activates the new "Name That Tune" game but will be adding more "games" in the near future/ next versions.

  • As always - am very open to any suggestions for the next version - mb@code-it.com

04.15.2011: A bit of bad news - at least to me. I really hate to hear of anyone failing but believe me I understand how hard it is to sell software in these times.

About a year ago I re-branded a nice set of audio software tools for "AudioEditingTools.com" that they were offering for free with an option to upgrade. Sorry to say they "have given up the ghost" and shut their web site and distribution down.

I bought the web site domain and have it "re-directed" to this site. I am offering any past registered customer of "Audio Editing Tools PRO" a no charge upgrade to "Code-it Software Solutions" (currently a $29.95 value). This I am doing, not out of any obligation, but cuz I dislike leaving their customers "out in the cold". Any registered user should contact me for an upgrade (if wanted) and include some "proof of registration".

I regret that, the folks at AudioEditingTools.com, couldn't find a way to survive in this world of "everything has got to be free" - it's very tough to do as approx. only one in 10,000 users will ever pay anything (no matter how low the cost) to upgrade and support the developer/ vendor ;-(

04.20.2011: Revised the "CD 2 MP3 Ripper" that is available as an app available for download/ use by persons that have registered "the download all software on www.SoftwareGizmos.com offer".

  • option added to rip all tracks via one click

  • options to save 'cover art' (if any) to a BMP or JPG image file. This is a good method to be able to add cover art to your MP3 ID tags if wanted.

  • will be adding this new version of the ripper to "Code-it Audio Solutions" the next time I revise that software.

04.02.2011: Started complete revision of this web site. You might notice that it no longer features hardly any software for download and sale. It concentrates more on software development and re-branding services. Note to software customers - this change does not mean that we are abandoning our support for our software! We'll continue offering personalized support as well as future development - it just means that software sales are no longer the main "theme" of this site.

04.07.2011: Created a new web site/ domain to handle sales of all our software: www.SoftwareGizmos.com. You might notice, on this site, that we're no longer offering our stuff as "shareware" (download - then try before you buy) but rather in a new way. We've just grown tired of the ole shareware method: this "new way" may very well hurt our sales but it offers the customer more "bang for the buck" - which has always been one of our main goals.

04.11.2011: We are offering any past REGISTERED user of our "Wave MP3 Editor PRO" or "Code-it Audio Solutions" the opportunity to get the "download all software on www.SoftwareGizmos.com offer" at a discounted fee. THIS IS NOT REQUIRED TO MERELY UPGRADE THE VERSION OF INDIVIDUAL SOFTWARE: it is only an option/ effort to compensate for any "harm" that past customers/ users may feel. (i.e. "I paid $19.95 for Wave MP3 Editor PRO now you're offering over 50 apps - which include 'PRO' - for just $29.95 - only 10 bucks more. I feel slighted!")

The terms:

  • you must be a registered/ paid user of our "Wave MP3 Editor PRO" or "Code-it Audio Solutions"  software.

  • you'll need to give us some "proof of registration" (i.e. copy of registration email, order number or at the very least your name, software title you registered, and approx. date and cost of purchase)

  • the discounted registration fee is $14.95 - a full 50% savings/ discount

  • email mb@code-it.com for a special "buy/ upgrade link" - not published due to the need to be a REGISTERED customer.

03.16.2011 = released v2011.11 of "Code-it Audio Solutions"

The following are the revisions made:

  • version number changed from v2011.10 to v2011.11

  • fixed a bug in the "Recordster" (real time recorder tool) that set the record source volume to zero upon activation;-(

  • revised initialization code in several of the tools as well as the editors

03.16.2011 = released v11.2 of "Wave MP3 Editor PRO"

The following are the revisions made:

  • added a VU Meter display

  • added several new "hotkeys"

  • added "iNet Radio Receiver/ Recorder" as a tool

  • added "Recordster" (real time recorder) as a tool - fixed a bug that sets the record source volume to zero upon activation;-(

  • added "Overdub Mixer" as a tool

  • revised help files to reflect changes

12.16.2010 = released v11.1 of "Wave MP3 Editor PRO"

What? You may be scratching your head thinking! I thought you quit offering this title, about a month or so ago, and replaced it with "Code-it Audio Solutions".

Well.. yep - that is what I did and that was my intention - but you know what? Due to the way the search engines do their thing this action really hurt;-( I expected a little pain but not my sales going down over 80% just cuz I changed the name (while at the same time adding more tools and value). In an effort to revive sales, so I can feed the family, I just have to do what I have to do: hopefully, this will get things back on track.

Oh by the way - the new version of "PRO" dos not have near all the tools that the older versions did (and are included in "Solutions") so you probably would NOT want to "upgrade" to this newest version (if you are entitled to an upgrade to "Solutions" (see above note displayed in red).

11.27.2010 = released v2011.9 of "Code-it Audio Solutions"

Changes:

Other then the below listing of bug fixes and added/ changed tools - the main thing different in this new version is the interface. You know - this software stared out (over 7 years ago) being a fairly simple audio editor with a few standard tools (i.e. CD ripper, MP3 ID Tag editor, etc...) that were activated via a menu system within the audio editor. Since that time - I have added so many specialized tools (over 45 at last count) that it no longer seems logical to have to open the editor to activate a tool that you want to use - like, say  a specialized recorder. This software is now basically a "portal/ menu driven" application. This may take some of you, long time users, a little getting use to but I really think it's now the way to go. See video, of the menu, on the product page HERE. The main interface is now just a "strip" of icons/ buttons that "remembers" where it was placed on the desktop: the tools are all categorized into groups (i.e. Audio Editor, CD Tools, Recorders, Players, etc.) Other then that - the following changes have also been made:

  • Editor - disabled the Record and Timed Record function if playing a file. Just an "error trap" to keep the user on track!

  • added a "File Fixer" app to repair dll and ocx errors in the Windows Registry - hopefully you'll never need it but it's a handy tool just in case you need to fix "dll hell".

  • new interface for the "iNet Repeater/ Recorder"

  • added our new "NOW iRecordster" app as a tool - check it out here...

11.04.2010 = released v2011.8 of "Code-it Audio Solutions"

Changes:

  • added "MP3 Sign-a-Long Recorder" as a tool

  • added DMTF dial-done maker/ player as a tool

  • added "File Fixer Upper" as a tool to re-register (within the Wins Registry) all supporting files if you might experience any problems with "dll hell"

  • added "Pre-Record Wizard" to get the recording settings just right before starting a recording session

  • improved the effects and filter "custom settings" functions

  • several small bug fixes - not really "bugs" but just included some "error traps" to keep things work'n the way they're suppose to.

10.28.2010 = "Wave MP3 Editor PRO" has been renamed to "Code-it Audio Solutions" as of 10.28.2010. Why? This software has evolved to such a point that the name no longer fits. All past registered users of "Wave MP3 Editor (Basic and PRO versions) are entitled to this new version/ app free of charge.

Stuff revised and added:

  • Changed name and version number

  • Tools added:

  • CD Grabber - rip audio CD tracks directly to WMA format/ sample rate

  • CD Disc eraser - erase data from any CD that allows this function

  • CD Image Builder (ISO) - create a ISO disc

  • MIDI Keyboard - play and create MIDI files with this fun tool

  • Send Audio eMail - send an audio email (small MP3 file) of the editors content

  • Stereo Simulator - enhance those mono recordings easily and quick

  • Wave Tone Maker - a VERY advanced wav tone creator/ player. Create tones to use as effects or whatever you might want to do with them.

  • Advanced Timed MP3 Recorder - set date and start/ stop times to automatically record up to 4 instances. Many advanced options

10.19.2010 = Oooooooooooooops! My bad! In the last version released the function to add custom effects "pre-sets" had a problem: the focus was not allowing to enter the custom name. This has been corrected.

10.11.2010 = THIS IS A MUST HAVE: it includes revisions/ code that really put this software over the top! I keep think'n that this software will be "done" soon but every time I think that - "it just keeps pull'n me back" (as was said in the Godfather movie).

  • version number change (v2011.5).

  • added time display while recording

  • replaced audio player - some users that had Wins Media Player 11 (including me) were finding that the old player no longer worked;-(

  • changed code for output volume slider = some users were experiencing problems with the old code working - this for sure will

  • improved delete function for all temp files upon exit

  • added error trap for play skip buttons/ functions - was crashing some times when the buttons were clicked rapidly

  • added automatic visual file chopper

  • replaced Tune Chopper tool with new version: added another method to chop a large file.

  • added a "pitch bender" to the equalizer/ effects screen - you know what a "pitch bender" is don't you? My version is a down and up button (instead of the normal "wheel") that changes the pitch (up or down). Unlike the "pitch slider" it snaps back to the normal pitch in a second. A DJ turntable feel can be created with some play, but the difference here is that the tempo remains the same, so your track can go on without sequence timing changes. This is really a fun tool that can be used to add DJ type effects when using the "Playback Recorder" to record in real time.

  • corrected some misspelling: most likely didn't get it all cuz I'm REALLY a bad speller. A note - wonder why these programming languages haven't figured out how to add a "spell checker"? The big bucks these software apps cost just seems they could/ should?

  • smashed a few bugs and enhanced the code somewhat for speed thus using less resources.

  • corrected the "set path" code - was crashing some systems that didn't have more then one hard drive and other various problems.

  • replaced play control icons: made a little bigger and more pronounced

  • created new hotkeys - Ctrl+M  to set a marker, ALT+RIGHT arrow key and Alt+LEFT arrow key to move the cursor very slightly (approx 1 millisecond) within the wave form - makes it much easier to get the cursor to an exact point that a mouse pointer won't do.

  • created another set of hotkeys - may sound a little complicated when using for the first time but like anything it gets easier with time. Use the CLRT+UP Arrow Key to mark the starting point of your selection. Use the ALT+RIGHT Arrow key to move the cursor very slightly forward (explained in the above bullet point). Use the CLRT+DOWN Arrow key to mark the end of the selection - it will highlight that section that you have marked. You can really get finer sections selected then via a mouse this way - down to a millisecond or two. Great for pick'n clicks out of vinyl record recordings.

  • coded an error trap when the user tries to load a file over 2 GB - this is the supported limit - now instead of the software just crashing it alerts you of the problem and stays active. May sound like an easy thing to do but due to the different types of hard drive formats (NTSF, FAT 32, etc) it was much harder then it should of been;-(

  • function to convert then import (Open TXT/ RTF File) txt and rtf files directly into the editor - option to set the text 2 speech engine as well as set the sample rate of the imported file before conversion.

  • revised code in the "Tune Library" to make it more stable - was acting funny at times - for reasons you most likely can't imagine.

  • THIS IS BIG! Added a PREVIEW function to hear what an effect or filter would sound like if you committed to applying it to the loaded file - not just a small sample but what ever you have selected or the complete file - this function saves lot's of time to get your files enhanced just the way you want them.

  • THIS IS EVEN BIGGER! Have included the option to save "Custom Settings" for any/ all effects or filters: this way you don't have to remember that setting that turned out just right - merely save then click on it's name (when ever you want to reuse it) and the values are set to your custom setting! Oh, and also an option to delete any custom setting if you want.

  • revised the help files to reflect these revisions...

  • am in the process of adding quite a few new apps to the "Specials" page for free download and use for registered users. Lot's of "bang for your buck" with this feature?

  • a lot of these revisions were suggested by a user that took the time to let me know how WMP3E PRO could be better and somewhat more like the old time favorite (before it was bought out by Adobe and now costs $299.00) of "Cool Edit": this made it better for all of us (a BIG THANKS - you know who you are;-)

Conclusion: It might be just me - but I'm really excited about the new features, functions and tools in the this new version. Would appreciate any input on "what say you".

09.07.2010

  • minor version number change (v2011.4.2).

  • improved code/ functions to save and load/ remember sample rate (Freq, Channels, Bit-Rate) of WAV and MP3 files "Saved As".

  • added splash screen to indicate the configuration process (load your settings).

  • revised the "Batch Transformer" tool to perform more functions: improved the interface.

  • revised help files to reflect changes.

  • misc. small code improvements.

07.20.2010

  • minor version number change (v2011.4)

  • added a slider (function) to set/ adjust "record source input volume" on "Recordster (a specialized tool)

  • removed "WMA Stuff" tool - am working on a replacement that will be released  in the near future. This tool's supporting files were causing problems for some Windows 7 users. Will most likely just add this new tool (it's going to be awhile before release!) to the "Special Tools" page for download - if you want it you'll be able to download/ install it - as I don't really think many users even use it?

  • bug revisions on the "Recorder Widget" tool - some Wins 7 users were having a particular problem with the "auto startup" function.

  • revised a few things on the "Tune Chopper" tool - nothing major.

  • added yet 2 more "themes" (including one that you can custom build) within the editor.

  • added output and input volume sliders (functions) on the editor's interface. Quite a few users requested this feature to be put back - like in the older days of the editor's history.

07.13.2010

  • retained the same version number (v2011.3)

  • added a pause function to the "Recordster" (recorder) tool

  • added option (slider) that gets and gives you the option to adjust the record source volume within "Recordster".

  • if you just want a "patch" - download this file and place it into the install path of Wave MP3 Editor PRO (allow to overwrite) - if you prefer a full setup/ install of the new version - or have any questions - please advise.

07.05.2010

  • added functions to "remember" what format and sample rate a file was saved as

  • added advanced "Recording Automatic Gain Control" configuration options

The most current version of "Tune Twister" is v3.7 - published 07.07.2010

  • a "re-branded product" - removed the specialized tools and reduced the registration fee
